Emerald Boggs

Emerald Boggs is the Intake Manager at the Kirby G. Smith Law Firm. She is the gatekeeper to the firm – the first voice you will hear and the first person you will interact with upon calling the firm with a potential case. Ms. Boggs is very different than receptionists one normally talks to when first calling a law firm. She is a law school graduate and well versed in employment law. She will discuss your case with you and determine whether we can represent you; if we cannot, she can suggest other options that may be available to you. In addition to her intake duties, Ms. Boggs works with the attorneys to assist employees in a wide range of litigation situations and assists employers regarding daily workplace issues, providing practical advice for handling a variety of problems and advising as to when the employer would be best served to hire an attorney.

In law school, Emerald served as vice president of the Family Law Society, as well as new member chair for the Black Law Students Association. As a member of the Corporate Counsel Externship, she completed an externship for a major television network. In this program, she gained experience in employment law, tax law, and entertainment law, as well as helping to provide day-to-day legal advice to a business.

Prior to joining The Kirby G. Smith Law Firm, Emerald served as a law clerk for Judge Susan P. Tate of the Athens-Clarke County Probate Court. She has a background in history and art history and volunteers her time at the High Museum of Art.
