kgs old picMr. Kirby G. Smith is the Founding Partner of the Kirby G. Smith Law Firm. Mr. Smith’s passion to work in civil litigation began before he even attended law school, when he worked as an office manager and legal assistant for a boutique employment law firm. During that time, Mr. Smith developed a desire to help both individuals fighting companies with substantially larger resources than themselves and small businesses trying to get off the ground. While the legal needs of both are often different, the main goal remains the same: to help those who are stuck fighting something much larger than themselves, be it an army of corporate attorneys or an army of red tape.

Over the years, Mr. Smith has accumulated substantial experience in various legal fields, including employment law, employment defense, wills and trusts, tax law, and bankruptcy law. Mr. Smith has seen the inner-workings of many different types of employers, as his past work experience has taken him through everything from the federal government’s Department of Housing and Urban Development and the United States Air Force in Warner Robins, GA, to private legal practice and private IT company work. He now takes all his experience as a litigator and provides it to anyone from white-collar executives with Fortune 50 companies to blue-collar construction workers and security guards.

Mr. Smith has litigated before both the United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals. Additionally, he has tried cases before various administrative courts, like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), the Office of Special Counsel (OSC), and the Inspector General’s Office.

Mr. Smith was born in Decatur, Georgia, and was raised in nearby Conyers; he currently resides with his wife in Atlanta, Georgia. He is an exercise enthusiast and gets in as much football watching as his weekends permit.
